Well, I had the pen for a week now, and I am happy with it..... That is to say, that it does one thing, coverts my handwriting into digital form.
The pen isn't that big for people with medium to big hands. I am afraid that if you have small hands or you are a child, you may have trouble holding the device with comfort. I had no qualms with the design, however I can see why people greatly dislike it. But from logitech's point of view, its hard to reader, pen, vibrating device, and everything else it hands into a BIC sized pen.Logitech io2 USB Digital Writing System
The OCR is good if you only intend to wright in essay form, and don't plan to make charts with words, or doing any creative not on the line note taking. As soon as words are too close, or you make a correction the OCR breaks, and then you have to go page by page to correct the OCR mistakes. Which becomes very time consuming, because it starts to overlap words.

Also, when creating a chart, its gets so confused, and basically slaughters the whole thing. There is no excel sheets here. A straight line gets deleted, and then its garbled, so if you do make any kind of graph with words keep note that other people will only be able to see it as a graphic.
Microsoft one note, and this pen are completely useless together. One note only is able to use it features, such as read your handwriting, if you have a tablet PC. Since I bought this device to help me compensate for not having a tablet for notes. It didn't really help me. HOWEVER if you have a tablet PC and you want to be able to write notes on paper, and use them in your tablet then this is perfect for you.
But the pen own note management program does work. It can be organized, and then searched for key words. Its not nearly as nice as one note, and it costs the same amount as one note (although, its free when you buy the pen) Its not really pretty and it has fairly limited features. It is basically the only way you will be able to view your documents and export them to other programs and such.

If you are looking for a good pen to go with one note. I recommend searching IPen pro. It works as a mouse, so it can be used to draw directly into one note. You still won't have One note's OCR functions, but it will be less expensive, and the same functionality.
