What is Modding?
Modding is art to some people, and to others its a practical way of getting the most out of your computer. Modding is the art of modifying computers. A computer mod can be done for looks or to make the computer more functional. A simple Mod is as easy as spray painting your computer case! An example of a more functional Mod would be making a drink holder out of your optical drive. Other Mod's include cold cathode tube lighting in the side of your computer case. The reasons people like Modding is that it can be challenging and fun. The humble computer case is not the only computer part you can modify, everything from the mouse to the monitor can be subject to modifications.
Advice about Modding
Before you start modding you should remember that generally the device that you are modding will be void of any warranty and that you are responsible of your own mistakes. We recommend starting with inexpensive devices first. Keep it simple to start with and ask questions. There are so many fine modders out there that are willing to share their expertise and experience with beginners. A good idea is to join a Modding Forum & start asking questions. You will soon be on your way to the modders hall of fame! Modding is rewarding & is for all ages, just remember to relax & enjoy yourself.
