World of Warcraft is one game that can be worked around if one has a lot of Gold. Gold possession is the most important aspect of playing. Gold is the basic foundation of your existence in the game.
So, if you're one of these 8.5 million and only starting you've no doubt got a stack of questions. One of them will inevitably be, "Where do I find some more gold?" Perhaps you've also been playing for a while, took up a profession (like leatherworking or tailoring) and find yourself still struggling to make ends meet. Not much fun in that - especially since gold is what's needed to purchase better skills, stronger armor, better weapons and even potions. Not to mention your much needed Mount!
Making money from the AH (auction house) is easy. Just use the search button to scan prices in the auction house and sell your items for the best price you can get to make a profit. To do this can be fairly time consuming and many players tend to do this almost full time as they have little time to do anything else. However this can be made easier by using the auctioneer add on to scan prices giving you a good idea of what prices are like on your server and enable you to undercut other players so you can sell faster. Or use it to find items that are greatly under priced so you can re-sell quickly at a profit.
Firstly, you may want to ditch your current profession and take up gathering. Why? Well, who were you buying your goods from when you were in your other profession? No doubt, the Gatherers. So, who are you going to sell to when you've gathered? Craftsmen like you (or, rather, like you were.)
Skins you can trade for considerably more at the auction house rather than vendors because you will always have higher level players who have lots of gold and will pay for skins to create armor etc, rather than go out themselves killing the mobs. And anyhow they use the skins to make far more valuable items than what they pay for the skins. In fact they pay for the convenience of not having to do the skinning so it is a win win situation.
Usage of gears in World of Warcraft is certainly advantageous but will deplete your gold resources heavily. Investing in gears in the initial levels from 1 to 40 would not be worth the gold spent. These levels have lesser gear dependency and you can complete these levels from what you gain from the quests. Keep the gold and wisely invest in higher level gears.
An enchanter can be quite busy with requests, but simply never has the time to find the necessary items to sell their enchant!
The bottom-line is Gold, the more you have, the better off you would be, World of Warcraft or not. All the best
